  1. Busy as a Bee

    Monday, February 11, 2013

Oh, I don't know where to start. As I'm writing this, my mind is racing and thinking of all the things that need to be accomplished. Also it's thinking of all the things I want to tell you about in this post. First off, We are moving the first week of April to Lexington, KY. My husband is a pastor and he has accepted another pastorate there in downtown Lexington. We are all soo very excited and cannot wait to make the move. As of right now, we are driving back and forth on the weekends so we can be there with the church people on Sunday and also do some, alot of work on the parsonage. Typically we go down on Friday. Work Friday evening and all day sat. Hold Sunday services and then come home sun night. It has been very very tiring, but the Lord is helping us and we are almost finished with the parsonage. Now I need to get myself in the gear of packing up this house. The bad thing is, we have to downsize ALOT. Soooo....there are alot of things I have to get rid of. I don't mind that, I just hate having to make the decision of "Does this go or do I keep this and let this go?" ugh! So now you know what we are doing on the weekends right now. During the week, I home school the children, all the household duties, my full-time job, and repacking for the next weekend. Sounds wonderful doesn't it? Now, I know you are so jealous of me. Just confess it. ha ha ha!

The next thing that took place this last week was, I, this momma, got to go away on a three day retreat. It was wonderful. I went to a scrap booking camp in Indiana with my dear dear friend. Let me just tell you ladies, IT Was WONDERFUL!!!!!! Can you imagine? Three whole days to do nothing but scrapbook, play games, and have fun with other ladies without the worry of cooking food, doing laundry, bathing children, etc etc. I went there with a empty scrapbook and I left with it filled completely up. It was soo refreshing. So because I was away on my thousand word picture post, you will see some pictures of me having fun last week. Smiles Smiles Smiles While I was away, the wonderful husband kept the fort together. Or maybe I should say the second mother who would be our daughter. We took this opportunity to finally break the baby of his last 2-3 feedings. The baby has done well. Momma is now weaning herself by using a pump. It's going alot better than I expected. So when I got home, I walked through the door for 10min. and turned around and left for Lexington for the weekend. It has been a very full and crazy week and this week is not going to slow down at all. We have valentine parties and work mtgs, and cleaning, laundry, packing and more packing and school and more school. Do you get my drift? Well, I hope that you enjoy the pictures. And I hope that each and everyone of you have a fabulous week.

Remember that Thursday is valentines day. Try to do something small for your spouse or significant other. Try to think of something that absolutely means something special to the both of you and give that gift.

  2. A Healthy Snack

    Monday, February 4, 2013

Fruit, yogurt, granola...it's all soo wonderful. Yummy! It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. If you mix it all together then it's really really great!!!!!

I get Honey Oat Granola from Aldi, Vanilla Yogurt from Aldi, and picked me up some blackberries for .99 a container at Alid. I placed Great Value "Splenda" on the berries and stir. Place yogurt, granola, blackberries in a bowl and you have a great great yummy snack. Here are the pictures to go with it.

Yummy! Try it for yourself You will enjoy it for yourself.

  3. Week Review

    Friday, February 1, 2013

It is so hard to believe that it is Friday again. For some, fridays are wonderful because they have two days off from work and get to relax and do things they really want to do or maybe they catch up on some things around the house. For this momma, when fridays come it means the busiest part of the week is here- Saturday and Sunday. Being a pastor's wife, weekends are the busiest. You have church people to call on and make sure they are going to be at church, you have church to prepare for. In my case, I play the piano and sometimes do a special. So I'm preparing for songs and whatever else may come along the way that needs picked up and done. So besides me trying to prepare for my weekend, this past week I homeschooled the kids, went to a 100 day celebration, spent some much needed time with a friend, caught up on all the laundry again, did some cleaning, talked with church people on the phone throughout the week, had a mtg with my boss and executive director, made a schedule for our family (which will be a post coming up), took care of my client (I have a full time job taking care of a 69yr old lady who has cognitive disability. She lives with us 24/7), got my baby on a schedule (which is another post coming up), we are alot happier since he has his own schedule. I think that pretty much sums it up. It has been a busy busy week.
I was spoiled by the 65 degree weather we had and I wish that spring would hurry and get here. But I don't look for that to happen anytime soon. So here is to a great weekend for everyone. Hope that it is grand and I will see you next week.

This is not a picture of where we live. I would love to see this much snow one time. It has been a long time since we have had a GOOD snow. I just found this picture and thought I would share the beauty of it.

  4. Thousand Words Thursday

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

  5. Basic Muffin Recipe

    Monday, January 28, 2013

My wonderful friend, Emily, is a homeschool mom of four children and has one on the way. She gave me this wonderful wonderful recipe that is a basic muffin recipe. You can add any type of fruit and you can also add chocolate chips to it. You can do a bread loaf or muffins. I love the bread loaf because it is alot easier and faster than making muffins. This recipe makes 2 loaves. My family enjoys it for breakfast or for even just a snack. I hope that you enjoy it.

  6. Peer Pressure

    Friday, January 25, 2013

Peer Pressure...when we think of it, we think of it just for our children, but it's still there for us as adults.

We live in a world where everyone has everything. Oh, I want that...so you go and buy it. It may be with cash, check card, or credit card. We live in a world where both parents in the home go to work every single morning. They drop their kids off at school, or grandparents house, or the babysitters. Why? Because they have so many expenses, wants, wishes that they can't afford for one parent to stay at home and raise their children. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking women who work...I'm just saying that we should reevaluate and look at what is really important. I have had so many conversations with women who work and they don't want to. They want to stay at home and take care of their children. I always ask them this question..."Can you make it on your husbands income?" The answer is normally this, "Yes, we can. It would be tight. We couldn't go out to eat whenever we want, we couldn't go shopping whenever we want, but we could make it."  So my question is again, "What is important?"  Raising your children and making your home what it needs to be, or being able to eat out and shop whenever you want.

  7. First post of 2013

    Monday, January 7, 2013

This is my life- I'm a homeschool momma of two with a baby. I have a full time job and I'm a pastors wife. I wonder why I don't have time to blog. I want to so badly, I just can't seem to find time to sit down and do it. Well on with other things, we were sick the whole Christmas break. The baby's schedule is all off and we are having a time trying to get him back on one. We are also trying to get back into the swing of school and that isn't going too well. For now that is all and here is my photo for the day.
